DAVIER was involved, as part of a larger team, in 2002 in a major project at the request of the African Development Bank, conducting a Research project on Franchising in Africa. The objective of the Mandate was to determine the status of Franchising on the Continent, interview franchisors, franchisees, banks, law firms and government officials, determine the economic consequences of this business format and make recommendations to the ADB on how it could provide assistance to Franchising as a positive contributor to the African SME’s growth on the continent. DAVIER spent considerable time in South Africa where Franchising is a significant contributor to local businesses and also in countries such as Egypt and Morocco, economies that the Team believed would benefit from Franchising.

In 2004 DAVIER was invited to Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, providing Seminars on Franchising to local business executives. These successful events were organized by our regional associates, in cooperation with the Canadian Embassies in the area and local trade associations with relationships to Canada. In 2006, DAVIER’s President, Michel Gagnon was again invited by the Canadian Embassy in Morocco to deliver a series of seminars on franchising and Canada Franchise Systems in particular.

From 2004 to the present day, Davier has built a network of associates and international partners to assist Canadian and foreign companies with their international expansion and growth.
